Airwallex becomes official partner of the McLaren Formula 1 team

Airwallex, a global payments platform, has entered a multi-year partnership with the McLaren Formula 1 team. As an Official Partner, Airwallex will modernise McLaren's financial operations and support a new digital merchandise platform. The collaboration extends to McLaren's Formula 1 Team, featuring Airwallex across livery, driver overalls, and branded materials through 2024 and beyond.

Airwallex will optimise supply chain payments for Grands Prix, addressing existing challenges like high foreign exchange charges and slow transfer times. The partnership aims to fuel Airwallex's global growth, leveraging its payment solutions for McLaren's operations.

In addition, Airwallex will assist in launching and maintaining McLaren's digital merchandise platform, enhancing multi-currency collection capabilities. The CEO of McLaren Racing, Zak Brown, emphasises the importance of efficiency in Formula 1, while Jack Zhang, CEO of Airwallex, sees the partnership as aligning with their global ambitions.

Airwallex's logo will prominently feature on McLaren assets, including the halo of the McLaren MCL38 and driver overalls. Formula 1's global reach of 1.5 billion viewers annually makes this collaboration strategic for Airwallex's goal to be a leading financial platform for innovative businesses worldwide.
