AccountsPrep is the write up module of AutoEntry for preparing accounts in arrears. It provides fast, easy, and efficient accounts preparation, removing the requirement for manual data entry and Excel working papers.
The typical use case for AccountsPrep is a sole trade client, operating on cash-accounting, who comes in once per year with a shoe box full of receipts, sales invoices, and bank statements.
All documents can be sent to AutoEntry for data extraction and then imported into AccountsPrep to prepare the accounts to trial balance ready for export to accounts production software.
A chart of accounts can be imported to AccountsPrep and aligned with accounts preparation software, or an existing template can be chosen.
It is easy to fast-code transactions and update references in bulk for transactions with the same details.
Functionality includes bank transfers, cheque reconciliations, split transactions, journal entries (including opening balance import) and period roll-forwards with audit trail. Search and drill-down capabilities are also included.
If the preparer is unsure over transactions then they can be flagged for review by a manager.
AccountsPrep produces a balance sheet and P&L with comparison periods, displayed in both graphical and columnar displays.
AccountsPrep specifically does not provide for accounts receivable (AR)/payable (AP) functionality – its focus is purely on facilitating postings for simple clients who do not operate their own AR/AP ledgers (i.e. do not use accounting software).
AccountsPrep integrates with the following accounts production software:
Sage Accounts Production
Sage 50 UK
CCH
IRIS
Digita
Keytime Compac
Relate AP
VT (Universal input Sheet)
SAPA
Generic
