September 2026 Updates: What's new in Karbon?

Karbon’s September 2026 release introduces several updates designed to give accounting firms more control over day-to-day workflows, client engagements and payments.

A major addition is Assignments, which brings tasks, emails, notes, client requests, eSignatures, approvals and integration tasks into one central view. Teams can filter assignments by factors such as client, assignee and deadlines, making it easier to monitor workloads and see what needs attention.

For client engagements, firms can now preview exactly what clients will see before sending, while templates and bulk creation make it possible to create multiple engagement drafts at once.

Karbon Payments also now supports Payments on Accounts, allowing firms to collect deposits or advance payments, set up manual payment plans, accept partial payments and hold credit until it is applied to an invoice.

Other updates include greater control over invoice requirements, searchable billing runs, customisable time entry prefill settings and cash or accrual basis account checks.
